The European Mystery Custom is just a special spiritual journey that presents the collective religious wisdom of the western world. It accepts that knowledge from the wide variety of divergent places because it regards all spiritual traditions included in a continuing discussion between man and God. The Western Secret Tradition has no dogma or needed values; all it requires can be an open brain and a responsibility to inner exploration. Spirituality is understood as anything that really must be skilled by the self, maybe not discussed by someone else. Each individual is prompted to get duty for their own spiritual progress, as opposed to relying upon a spiritual leader or guru.
The teachings with this Custom rest on three methods: the study of symbols, the performance of practice, and the search for self-knowledge a course in miracles. The Tradition identifies that while representations represent an alternative order of fact, they cannot constitute that various reality. This permits practitioners to be interested in and start to many designs from many different sources. Our comprehension of that various the truth is increased through meditation on and study of symbols.
The 2nd training, practice, is found in all organized religions and indigenous religious systems. It will take unique skills to execute habit effectively; when these abilities are mastered and deepened through regular exercise, routine can create a connection between different degrees of attention: consciousness and superconsciousness, mankind and Heavenly, physical and spiritual.
The next practice is self-knowledge. Self-knowledge, accomplished by continually questioning what we believe we realize, teaches us to separate your lives who and what we are really from the fake identities that individuals produce during our lives.
These three methods increase each other as we use them. Via a greater understanding of representations, our practice training is increased; through better practice, our self-knowledge is deepened; through greater self-knowledge, we obtain a subtler understanding of designs; and therefore on. This creates a synergy that alters our connection with being human and, eventually, brings people to the ultimate treasure: the belief of our personal Divinity. That awakening is referred to in the Western Mystery Convention as “Initiation.”
